I've been looking at this package to upgrade the book and there needs to
be a few changes. One thing I found is that there are several
executables in the tools directory that are not installed:

-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 18672 Oct 5 22:46 tools/aviocat
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 1086 Sep 28 01:37 tools/bisect-create
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 325 Sep 19 01:14 tools/clean-diff
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 16927 Oct 5 22:46 tools/cws2fws
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 18191 Oct 5 22:46 tools/ffeval
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 19487 Oct 5 22:46 tools/fourcc2pixfmt
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 28565 Oct 5 22:46 tools/graph2dot
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 77866 Oct 5 22:46 tools/ismindex
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 3498 Sep 28 01:37 tools/make_chlayout_test
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 793 Sep 28 01:37 tools/missing_codec_desc
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 8684 Sep 28 01:37 tools/patcheck
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 54348 Oct 5 22:46 tools/pktdumper
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 60879 Oct 5 22:46 tools/probetest
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 21503 Oct 5 22:46 tools/qt-faststart
-rwxrwxr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 13483 Oct 5 22:46 tools/trasher
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bdubbs bdubbs 105 Sep 19 01:14 tools/unwrap-diff

A couple of these are scripts, but the rest are built by default.
Right now we mention qt-faststart but I can find no documentation of
that or any of the other tools. Should I just ignore them?

ffplay is no longer built, but there is code in the tarball for it.

The doxygen docs are huge (444M).

Make check now works. All pass if LD_CONFIG_PATH is set to add 8 paths
for the local libraries. Disk space for the tests is very large (787M).

The libraries are very large. For example libavcodec.so.54 is 46M.
Stripping out debugging data pares that down to 8.4M. I'll probably add
the stripping instruction as an option.

I plan on skipping the html generation instructions we currently have.
It's just the same as the man pages (same source) and will be generated
automatically if texi2html is installed. What we have is not quite
correct anyway.
