I've been looking at this package to upgrade the book and there needs to be a few changes. One thing I found is that there are several executables in the tools directory that are not installed:

Right now we mention qt-faststart but I can find no documentation of that or any of the other tools. Should I just ignore them? ffplay is no longer built, but there is code in the tarball for it. The doxygen docs are huge (444M). Make check now works. All pass if LD_CONFIG_PATH is set to add 8 paths for the local libraries. Disk space for the tests is very large (787M). The libraries are very large. For example libavcodec.so.54 is 46M. Stripping out debugging data pares that down to 8.4M. I'll probably add the stripping instruction as an option. I plan on skipping the html generation instructions we currently have. It's just the same as the man pages (same source) and will be generated automatically if texi2html is installed. What we have is not quite correct anyway. -- Bruce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
