I went ahead and tried out building version 1.0.1. I get a similar error
as you:

CCLD libvirt_lxc
libvirt_lxc-lxc_protocol.o: In function `xdr_virLXCProtocolInitEventMsg':
/sources/libvirt-1.0.1/src/./lxc/lxc_protocol.c:31: undefined reference
to `xdr_uint64_t'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [libvirt_lxc] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/sources/libvirt-1.0.1/src'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/sources/libvirt-1.0.1/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/sources/libvirt-1.0.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

There is definitely something wrong with this version.
Regards,
Wayne.
