I usually use virtual machines with 4G memory and 4G swap. The virtual 
disk is 50 G, with 100 M for /boot, 15G for the distro with which I 
built LFS, 15G for LFS/BLFS (+ a 4G partition for the swap). The host 
machine has 16G memory, so there is no limitation on this side.
