Hello,

On the tl-installer page there is no mention of being able to select your
own download mirror to use.

In the past I have just let the installer select a mirror not actually
knowing that one can be passed to it on the command line.

Typically it has chosen an Australian mirror and it has taken me 1 1/2
hours to install.

This time around, I passed this option to the installer:

./install-tl --location http://mirror.aut.ac.nz/CTAN/systems/texlive/tlnet/

This reduced the insallation time to 40mins total.

This may well be the case for people in other countries as well.

I think it would be a good idea to add this option to the page.

The list of mirrors can be found at:

http://ctan.org/mirrors

Regards,

Christopher.
