This, if the ping replacement is not a problem for the system, I think
could be done. But most (B)LFS users run ping from the terminal, so not
a big problem, but annoying to know that an application could be fixed,
and let it failing. We've got mixed arguments from Armin. It would be
great if GNOME users could add opinions, before we decide if adding a
new package to the book is a good move.
