Hi all
I am in the process of building LFS/BLFS 7.8 and noticed that BLFS shadow
with pam (Chapter 4) is missing the installation of
/etc/pam.d/other
/etc/pam.d/system-password
/etc/pam.d/system-account
/etc/pam.d/system-auth
/etc/pam.d/system-session
While pam already provides an other, the system-* stuff seems not being
installed anywhere, but is still referenced from
/etc/pam.d/login
that are installed in shadow with pam.
As far as I understand, this will lead to an unusable system?
The installation of these files is still present in BLFS 7.7:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/7.7/postlfs/shadow.html
It is gone in:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/7.8/postlfs/shadow.html
Look in
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/7.8/postlfs/linux-pam.html
We moved those files because they go with pam, not shadow. Other
packages use them even if you don't reinstall shadow.
Sorry, I just simply overlooked that. Also fully agree that they're
better off there.
Sorry for the disruption and thanks for the help.
Kind regards
Tim
