Dear BLFS developers,
At least since BLFS 7.4, the programs `xfontsel` and `xload` are not
listed anymore.
Looking through the log and searching Redmine(?) [2], I couldn’t find
the reason. Could you please enlighten me?
As a side note, currently they fail to start, as the appropriate fonts
seem to be missing. That even happens when the X legacy fonts [3] are
installed.
```
$ xload -update 1
Warning: Unable to load any usable ISO8859 font
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion
Error: Aborting: no font found
```
Kind regards,
Paul
I carry over the xfontsel files from previous 32-bit blfs
builds and just put them in appropriate directories.
I have tested xfontsel on the blfs-8.0 that I made
from the stable book and it works. If you want I can
send the files to you. Here are the files and where
I place them:
cp -i xfontsel /usr/bin
mkdir /usr/share/X11/app-defaults
cp -i XFontSel /usr/share/X11/app-defaults
cp -i xfontsel.1 /usr/share/man/man1
I also have the files for xlsfonts, which also
seems to have disappeared.
Both xfontsel and xlsfonts are available at
