I just looked at the libwebp page, to download 1.0.3, and realised
there is an old Note there:
If you are updating from libwebp-0.4.x or 0.5.x, and wish that
installed applications link to the new version 0.6.x, they need to
be reinstalled.
With 1.0.2 the installed library was libwebp.so.7.0.4 and the pc
file just mentioned libwebp.so - I guess the note might be
redundant.
