Good evening folks,
I noticed something in my Google Highlights app on my phone that
looked interesting:
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15816#c8
It referenced a bug in xfce4-settings about crashes on systems with
multiple displays attached. There seems to be patches in that bug
report as well.
Should we apply them to BLFS before 9.0 releases? It only affects
XFCE 4.14 and later.
If we can get someone to validate both the problem and the fix, we can
do that. Otherwise, go with what we have.
I just checked the bug report, I assume they will release a new version
of xfce4-settings soon, so we could go for that when it's released.
I would have tons of monitors around me at work to test with, but my
laptop only has one hdmi port. The problem does not happen with one
monitor attached, so I guess it's not that urgent, as not that many
people have two external monitors attached to their computer at the same
time.
Is this only a laptop issue? I have two monitors on my workstation
working with the Intel HW. I do use xfce, but was not planning on an
immediate upgrade for that system.
