Hi folks and prepare to suffer. Dec and email again :-(. I'm back in lfs-3.3 and have currently tried rejigging my mail setup of Postfix, procmail, fetchmail, mutt, spamd/spamc to work from my new isp. I cannot send, apparently because esat bt (a.k.a. iol.ie, a.k.a bt ireland) are rejecting an (unknown) server. This is the kernel of it.
<[email protected]>: host mail.iol.ie[193.120.142.151] said: 550 rejected: cannot route to sender <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (in reply to end of DATA command) others smtp commands failing are MAIL FROM, and RCPT TO. Even the Message-id gets @genius.chateau.dec on it and isps here are getting fussy. It then dumps the mail in my new email address, [EMAIL PROTECTED] So genius.chateau.dec has to be replaced by something somewhere. Grepping for the chateau in my hostname, I get >From /etc/postfix/main.cf: myhostname = genius.chateau.dec mydomain = chateau.dec masquerade_domains = chateau.dec, iol.ie smtpd_banner = genius.chateau.dec under LFS-3.3 and postfix >From .muttrc: set hostname=genius.chateau.dec It's also in resolv.conf, hosts, and hostname, and even in ./etc/postfix/*.db. I would ideally like to persaude iol.ie I am one of theirs, and stay what I am for laziness, but I must change this enough to work. Guesses are that I can run with the [EMAIL PROTECTED], or maybe [EMAIL PROTECTED], or conceivably [EMAIL PROTECTED] The iolbb bit is 'iolBroadBand' and distinguishes my service from other services on the same set of servers.
