I use CUPS, Gimp-Print, ESP Ghostscript and Samba to print to a
printer attached to a Windows PC. I don't get the extra page you
are speaking of.

Perhaps you could provide a few more details to better describe
"print through samba" and I could try and duplicate your problem.
