So, RPM package system is not so transparent -- I remember my RedHat
times. It was only about "rpm -ivh <package>", then something was done
(maybe files copying or compiling or something) and package was installed.
And RPM is to big and to complicated. It is my point of view.
But I have to apologize -- if you well understand what RPM doing you are
right. LFS philosophy is to understand everything well, am I right?
The question was: "What package system?".
And my advice is: Don't use RPM. I thing the main goal of RPM is to cover
steps of compilation and installation process and pack up them into "one
mouse click" (like MS Windows). Not necessary to understand the process.
This is the way RPM goes against LFS philosophy. In the other hand you can
use whatever you want because of "Your distro. Your rules." Decision is up
to you.
Have a nice day
