So, Is this a "regular" processor, or something less used ? Did you have any problems building LFS with it, and did the toolchain testsuites give reasonable answers ? Have you set CFLAGS in blfs ? And which version of LFS ? Possibly, you've got an overheating problem and it will be happier if you let it cool down before trying to build large packages like X. Maybe the memory is wearing out (try memtest86 or memtest86+).
