I would look at the files in the source dir. It is quite possible that
the checks rely on optional programs you have not got inatalled. I
failed a number of tests on glibc once but ran it down to some html
inadequacy on my host system. Glibc I would take a little more seriously
that popt anyhow.

If there are 43 tests, install it. If there are 200 tests, you had
better look again.
