A word of advice, go thru the log file for *all* packages, especially for the installation portion.
Yeah, I do it *now*... But that's indeed a *very* apropriate piece of advice, I wish I heard it (and followed!) it from the beginning! But at least my server (HLFS, almost at kernel stage) will get more attention.
