Hi,
does anybody know some fully graphical (e.g. GTK2 or QT) file manager
(with the same behavior and functions as mc has)? Something like Total
Commander, Volkov Commander or Servant Salamander under Windows. I am not
sure but there is no one (like file managers under Windows) for Linux.
Konqueror, ROX and so on is not the solution for me. What do you think
about?
Have a nice day

You really have to figure out for yourself which one is best for you.
Some people use Midnight Commander (a text-only file manager), some
use
Konqueror, some use Nautilus (GNOME file manager) and some don't use
any
graphical file manager at all....
I have used all of them previously. If no new package found I'll get
back to MC which, althoug old, is a good file browser having some other
functions as well.
Although its not in the BLFS book, I like the rox file manager. It has a
clean, fast interface, and seems like it's fairly intuitive for new users as
well as advanced users; a neat feature for advanced users is that for most of
the traditional menu-based or drag-and-drop file manager actions you
initiate, rox will actually open up a text dialog box that shows the command
(cp, mv, chmod, etc) being executed along with its output.
