I've installed mysql following the blfs instructions on a couple different machines. I've noticed that frequently when I restart the mysql daemon, the permissions on /var/run/mysql are changed to 770, meaning clients cannot connect until I do chmod 775 /var/run/mysql. Can anyone give me a clue as to why this is happening and how I can prevent it?
