If you're using any remotely recent version of X, then yes - it's been included as part of X for ages now. Xorg 6.8.1 includes Xft 2.1.2, while 2.1.7 will presumbably be part of the upcoming 6.9 / 7.0 releases. The original Xft is pretty much retired now - I doubt anything significant would still use or provide it. Simon.
