I'm not quite sure why I'm responding to this message, perhaps
in an effort to keep a bug being introduced erroneously.

Obviously, the OP's comment is because he mistakenly saw the GNOME-1
version of libglade instead of the (even much more current version
that he mentioned) useable version.
