Talk about timing, I just found this one last night too and it looks promising. I really like that it's built for my desktop of choice, Gnome, so I'm giving this one a try. I had to install the CVS version in order for it to work with the newer gstreamer v10, and I've also had to install some updated gst-plugins. I've finally got it to compile, but now it's segfaulting. Good thing is, this app at least appears to be getting updated, so maybe after a week or so, the CVS version will work a little better.
