Running Gnome, it's an option from the font config panel. I'd guess it can also be done via fontconfig settings files, but that's the way I know. Note - subpixel only makes sense for an LCD screen, so if you're using a CRT, this option probably isn't what you want, even if it fixes the existing problem. Simon.
