What do you mean where is it done? This question was already answered
above, by Dan. You configure fonts as described in the X Window System
Components page. The /usr/share/fonts directory itself should be created
by the installation of fontconfig...however, in the X installation
described in stable BLFS, this is a non-issue as /usr/share/fonts isn't
even used.
Hm. Looks like I skip the most important parts, even though always
look thru the instructions :) I've installed fontconfig, but the
/usr/share/fonts was not created. I've done it manually when firefox
was crashing.
Don't blame me too much for not following instructions in all points
:) One never knows when they change, and since this is already third
build in 3 years, I (unintentionally) go the way that I took the first
time :(
But looks like now, when fonts are properly configured, I can't
reproduce the compilation failures even with instructions from the
blfs-stable.
