BLFS, though it can be used as a working desktop system (I'm using one myself), is just an example of what you can do after LFS. It is not meant to be the followup of the LFS book. To be more precise, LFS is not a Linux distribution, it's a learning book. If you don't understand that, you miss the main point of the project. And my attitude is not shitty as you say, I just noticed a bunch of questions on the same subject these last days on both LFS and BLFS list. You know, people in this project (which I'm not part of, just a user like you) sometimes spend a lot of their time on the book. So one thing they surely don't want to hear is : "Hey, guys, your book sucks, if I did it myself, it would be much better, faster... etc.". I think those posts are quite rude. And I'm comfortable with this statement because I was once or twice reminded myself about this !
