I used to do that, but switched back go /usr/libexec after hitting packages that assumed that things it depended on could be found in it's own libexec dir. From memory, it was GDM, looking for various other pieces of Gnome... I'm sure the problem was solvable, but it was easier to simply remove --libexecdir from my scripts and use the default location.
