Just for the record. After noticing the message:
./configure: line 3620: directory: command not found
I stopped the build and introduced:
sed -i 's|=Unversioned directory|=\"Unversioned directory\"|' \
configure
As expected, the message disappeared.
Didn't test if the build would fail without the sed.
