I wouldn't recommend this at all. Simply because they are security
tools, that doesn't mean that they're going to make your system any more
secure simply by having them; you have to use them properly. For
example, GnuPG is for secure comunication and typically used for signing
emails, whereas OpenSSH is for encrypted communication between hosts.
These two tools serve completely different roles.

At the very least, I would install Iptables and write yourself some
firewall rules, SSH to connect to other hosts, and Shadow to secure your
passwd file.
