I split your insanely long line here, so that I can direct you to
/blfs/view/ - the 7.5 book is there if you wish to refer to it.
which now is 7.6. I’m building in LFS-7.5. I caught this when I
was getting ready to install the boot script for rpcbind. The
version of the boot scripts is different.
I completed the build and install of libtirpc-0.2.5 (it’s version
0.2.4 in BLFS-7.5), libevent-2.0.21 and rpcbind-0.2.1. I think I’m
OK so far, burt my question is, is there any difference for rpcbind
in the boot scripts between 7.5 and 7.6?
You _could_ get the bootscript tarballs referenced in those two
versions, untar them somewhere, and then diff the two trees to see
what has changed. If you put the output from diff into a file, and
you have got vim set up nicely, you can use 'view' on that file to
get nicely coloured changes.
There is also a ChangeLog in the bootscript repo, although we do not
always remember to update it :-)
Or look at the svn repository:
http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/log/trunk/bootscripts/blfs/init.d/rpcbind
Check the revision log. Last change was 12/04/11, but that was all
comments. There were no effective changes to that script sine it was
first added by ken (11/24/11).
But in this case, the rpcbind init.d script has not changed since
2011.
