And just to be clear: when I first used xfce I had to configure something, and ISTR the same when I used gnome-terminal in the past. And in february when I tried kde under qemu there was some configuration required, but it seemed different from, and much easier than, the current version - it was so straightforward that I did not make any notes.
Normally, I use urxvt and that just works - but I thought I would try kde here. For xorg, I normally use my gb,deader variant (normal gb but with additional dead keys for diacriticals) - I haven't actually checked if kde sees my additions, for that box it does not matter very much. ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early.
