Because I don't want to have to maintain two toolkits. That's already decided. (See above) Ain't gonna happen. I'm going to try libnotify-0.5.2, the latest I found that doesn't require GTK-3. Theoretically libnotify-0.[567].* should all provide the same API--that's the way the numbering is supposed to work.
