So PCRE-8.36 is required. With it installed everything works out fine.
pcre is recommended for glib. That means that glib can be built without
it, but some changes to the instructions may be required or some useful
functionality will be missing.
Generally you should consider recommended dependencies as required
unless you know why and how to remove it.
