Sir, In response to my message on the subject noted above, there is a message from Spike as follows:
============================================================================= >On the Mozls-60 page just before the compile section there is a note >"If installing in the chroot environment, be sure to export the |SHELL| >environment variable or configuration of the package will fail." >Did you see this part? >Spike ======================================================================== Yes, I have seen it and proceeded by exporting SHELL as I did for LFS-7.x, LFS-8.x and, recently, LFS-9.0. But the problem remained. Ken Moffat and Bruce have replied: ======================================================================== >On 3/21/20 9:27 AM, Ken Moffat via blfs-support wrote: > The problem happens in chroot because '/run' is empty. However, before receiving their reply I compiled Mozjs-60 in proper LFS without X Window. I don't have any idea why such a solution was feasible. Perhaps, some experts may be able to throw light on this. I would like to repeat that I never had any problem with Mozjs or Firefox earlier. I normally visit linuxquestions.org or Google for any problem with LFS but I could see some solution in Google which made me to try compilation in LFS environment with success. I proceeded to install LXDE in chroot environment and then installed Pale Moon web browser (just by downloading the source package, untarring it and making some tweaks as given in their web site) without overloading my old CPU. I just needed LFS to work as Media Server and nothing else as I already have almost full-pledged LFS-9.0 in the same desktop. Incidentally, I never had a single problem in LFS-9.1 except for Mozjs! Thanks and regards. Yours, V S Nagasayanam.
