Hi,
Thanks for that. I didn't know you could do it that way.
Also, you can press shift F3 to find the previous search term. I just
discovered this a few seconds ago.
Hope this helps,
Jeffrey

When useing the Jaws find, just press the F3 key, to find the next instance
of your search term.

Hi,
The find dialog in IE 7 doesn't work that well.
Instead of using that, what I do when I want to find something on a web page
is use the JAWS find (ctrl insert F) to find what I'm looking for. This can
be used anywhere in any application.
It gives you options for matching if something is upper case or not.
However, to find the next occurrence of something, all you have to do is
press that keystroke again, and when the JAWS find dialog comes up, just
press enter.
I hope this helps,
Jeffrey

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Strange Search/Find IE 7

Hi All,

I ran into the same strange thing with IE 7 and JAWS 7.1 the other day
that I did with IE 7 and JFW 7.0 when I got my computer back from the shop
with a new hard drive and re-installed programs and I don't know what I did
to bring it on. I'm hoping someone can recognize it so I won't accidentally

do it again since I had a devil of a time getting out of it.

When I got the computer back, I thought I did a Control-F for Find and
was given a chance to choose part of the text or complete text; match text
or not to match it; next occurrence or previous one etc. I assumed that it
was an incompatibility with JAWS 7.0 and IE 7 especially since some people
here said it was a bad combination. I bit the bullet and started using JFW
7.1 and the old Control-F worked fine until Monday when I went grocery
shopping at

www.peapod.com

which I've used for more than 2 years. The site was much slower than usual,

but I needed groceries and persevered. I'd been doing Control-F and F-3 and

getting my shopping done until I encountered the same choices I did when I
first got the machine back. I'm still not used to this new keyboard and may

have accidentally hit some other keystroke or been impatient and continued
before Peapod had finished the action.

I've been trying to read about IE 7 since I had IE 6 before my 'puter
problems and have been trying to learn about the new features. I thought
maybe I'd hit Control-E by mistake and worked with that a bit, but didn't
get the thing to choose part of the text or complete text; match text or not

to match it; next occurrence or previous one etc.

I'm reasonably sure it will be hard to tell me what I encountered
without knowing what keys I pressed and I don't know. Does the description
sound familiar to anyone?

    Thanks,

Margaret
