Hi Chris, I have found that Winamp 5.5 is fraught with bugs, so in my opinion, I would recommend you go back to Winamp 5.35, as this was the most stable version of Winamp I ever worked with.
Just my two cents worth, but if it means anything, it kept happening to me also. Also, if you can't get your hands on the 5.35 version, let me know, and I'll send it to you, as I uninstalled the 5.5 version, and re-installed the 5.35 version on my own computer.
