As another person posted, you will need a wireless router which goes between
your cable modem and one of the computers. Chances are that one desktop unit
is sitting next to the cable modem so there is little point to connect this
computer wirelessly. Since the other computer is also a desktop it is
unlikely that it has a wireless adapter so you will need to buy one for that
computer. I use a 3Com PCI wireless adapter for one of my desktops. It is
very easy to install and it works flawlessly. The 3Com card costs a bit more
than ones from D-Link, LinkSys, or Belkin but it's worth every penny. The
desktop sitting next to the router and modem can be connected simply with an
Ethernet cable.

Clear as mud? If you want, you can contact me off-line for more information.

Take care,
Russ

Could you tell me what type of computers you are trying to connect? Are they

laptops or desktops? If they are laptops do they have wireless adapters
built in or plug-in cards? Also, what type of Internet connection do you
have? Is it dial-up, cable, or DSL?

What you need is at least in part depend on what you already have. If you
could give me a run-down of what you have and what you would like to do then

I can give you a push in the right direction.

Take care,
Russ

Subject: [Blind-Computing] wireless connections

Hi all I want to set up wireless connection between two computers and need
some help with this project. I have no idea where to start could someone
give me ideas on what kind of hard ware to buy for starters? After that I
will need help in setting things up. I also want to be able to use my
Braille plus on this wireless connection. Do any of you know if I will need
anything to do this other than what will be on the computers and the Braille
plus?
Thanks for the help.
Lou
