I'm not sure what the dummy checkbox stands for, but I think it all has to do with the skins that load when you start Avast. As for scheduling (I may be wrong), it is only in the paid version of the program. You can schedule a boot time scan, but not a regular scan. Someone please correct me on this if I'm wrong. You can turn the skins off so they won't come up, but Avast will start up without the skins and will be much easier to get around in without them. Stanley
