Generally, when I want to forward something like this, I'll first copy all the 'presentable' content from the original message, and then hit Ctrl + F, then in the content of the new message, will just go to directly below the --- part, hit Ctrl + Shift + End to select everything from there down, and then Ctrl + V to simply insert the 'cleaner' content.
