Hi! This might be a long shot, but I had a similar problem with my new
computer about a year ago. If you have a creative sound card, you might
check for a program called dllml. It slows everything down a lot, and from
what I understand, Creative has done away with it now. Anyway, as soon as I
got rid of that, my computer started working beautifully again. If this
doesn't apply to your situation, I'm sorry, but it's the only suggestion I
could think of. Good luck getting it fixed!

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Computer slowed down drastically

I am using windows XP and jaws 9.0 and I need some suggestions. My
computer
has slowed down drastically suddenly for some reason. I have defragged,
run
scan disk and all of the settings that I can think of but nothing has
helped. I called my internet service provider anda tech went through
things
with me and he ran a check from his location on my connections. My
computer
boots up with windows and jaws fast enough but the things slow down when I
go to the desktop and and attempt to go to my homepage or any other URL on
the desktop. I know some of you are computer smart and I would appreciate
any suggestions. Thanks much,

Best wishes,
