Hmm, I always believed that if it didn't need defragmenting then so be it.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] is the analyze option in defrag reliable?
Hi list,
I was just doing my usual once a fortnight system maintenance e.g disk
cleanup and defrag etc.
I have heard, that doing things like a defrag etc on too frequent a basis,
can put a lot of wear on a hard drive. I have therefore recently began
using the analyze option in defrag rather than doing a regular defrag.
However, each time I choose the analyze option over the past few months,
it always reports, that I do not need to perform a defrag on this hard
drive(I only have the one hard drive anyway).
How much trust should I put in the analyze report? Or should I ignore
the analyze option, and go back to performing a defrag every couple of
weeks or so?
thanks Jason
