Hi.

I'm a fan of Avast, which you can acquire from www.avast.com. My main gripe
with them is that, if you plan to use the program for over two months,
registration is required, although the process is free. Registration does
require the use of a video captcha which, last time I used it, has no audio
text for blind users. However, the Avast support team is very good with
promptly registering blind users and sending out the license codes. If you
go this route, give the support team all of the information which the
registration form asks such as name, city, etc. and indicate to them that
you agree with the license terms. Once the program is installed, it is
necessary to disable their skins in order for you to gain access to the
program itself. You can do this by using insert f11, go to Avast, go to
program settings, press enter and then tab until you see the options about
skins. Press the spacebar to uncheck them and then press enter for OK.
Avast has some odd names for things but, all in all, is a good program. It
even runs on Windows 98, which I am still using at home.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Which free anti-virus software is easy to install

Hi folks. Guess I asked my question in the subject line. I intend to
purchase Nod32 soon but in the meantime I'm looking for something easy to
install that will give me virus protection. I use Jaws 8 and Windows 2000.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pete
