If you install a third-party version of IE 6, it will not affect IE 7, since
it is being installed as a stand-alone application that bypasses the normal
MS installation wizard.

The reason you cannot uninstall IE 7 is that there is no earlier version
of IE installed on your computer to revert to. Obviously, a Vista
machine would not be equipped with IE 6. However, many people who
received new computers for Christmas want to retain the ability to use IE
with JAWS 7.1 and earlier. These versions of JAWS are compatible with IE
6 and not IE 7. (Only JAWS 8 and higher are fully compatible with IE 7.)
So to avoid upgrading to a later version of JAWS and paying for a new
SMA, it is necessary to download a third-party copy of IE 6. Installing
a third-party copy of IE 6 will not affect the already-installed version
of IE 7.

it was my understanding, if one is using vista, with IE7, going back to
IE6 wouldn't work. I could be wrong about this.
in vista,/control panel,/program features, there's no IE uninstall
ability.
