These are exactly the steps I used to send the music that played when I sent
it to myself, but did not play when I sent it to my friend. I got an error
message as it was sending it that said something about certain pictures
could not be sent with the message, did I want to send it anyway. I am
wondering if it was referring to the sound in the file and did not send it
to my friend. It is still strange, though, that it came to me with the
music still embedded. Hope this makes sense.

soundfileinOutlookExpress
Hi All,
The steps are below on how to add a sound file to an e-mail in OE. Take
care.
Adding a music or sound file as a background in an EMail message.
This feature is only available in Outlook Express.
1. Open a new message. Put in the recipients address, subject and any
message you may want to include.
2. Go to the format menu, alt o.
3. Arrow down to the background menu, or type the letter B.
4. Arrow down to sound, or type the letter s.
5. Tab to browse and press enter.
6. If you are wanting to add a midi file, tab one time to, files of type
and
type the letter m for midi.
7. Shift tab 2 times back to your list view.
8. Navigate to the file you want to add. If the file is not in that list,
you can press your backspace to navigate to different folders.
9. Once you find the file you want to add, press enter on the file name.
10. Tab to, repeat settings. You can choose to just play the sound, or
play
the sound continuously by pressing your up or down arrow. If you choose
to
just play the sound, you can tab one more time and select how many times
you
want the sound to be played by using your up arrow.
11. Tab to OK and press enter.
12. Send the message as you normally would.

It can be done either way, but if you wish it to play when it is opened
then
it needs to be embedded. I might just do a tutorial on this subject as it
would be very easy.

I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I'll probably screw that one
up
too.

It should be embedded in the message.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Question about embedding a sound file in
OutlookExpress
Hello all. When embedding a file in an "Outlook Express" file, is the
sound actually embedded int the ehe-mail or does it show up as an
attachment?
I ask this question because when I sent a message to my friend he heard
no
sound. I then sent one to myself and I heard no sound but noticed that the
sound was sent as an attachment. I am using Outlook Express and Windows
2000.
Thanks.
Pete
