Hi:
This happened to me a few years ago when I was running JAWS 5 or 6. It
sounded like a scratchy record only when JAWS speech was going. when I
quit typing it would stop also. It seemed that it was a somewhat
inicompatible sound card. We changed the card and I haven't had it
since. Since you already had that sound card installed though I would
be inclined to believe that maybe the three of them together are
arguing, so to speak.

Firstly, if you have speakers attached to that computer, try replacing
them with something else, and see if that changes anything.
Apart from that, you could also try killing jaws and see if while just
sitting there it still crackles as such.
All comes down to that the most common source of a crackling sound of
this type is that some or other bit of insulation in the
wiring/components of the sound system has as such become imperfect as
such, and a form of static electricity is causing this sound.

HI all. On another computer I use which is not my own property, JAWS

that a PCI
wireless card was installed. I doubt that has anything to do with
it, but
who knows. My question is for anyone else who has had this
occurrence take
place with JAWS, do you have any troubleshooting tips, or what you
discovered to be the most common problem in this regard?
I'm using JAWS 7.0 with Eloquence on an XP Home Dell computer.
