Sounds like a hardware specific issue or an Outlook 2007 one.

When using outlook 2007 here at work, it seems that as long as jaws 10 is
actually running, I will not hear the new mail notification sound when new
emails arrive in the inbox.
Was just wondering if this would be specific to the machine/hardware
configuration, or whether it's something to do with outlook 2007 itsself,
but maybe it's just to do with sound channels or something, but jaws and
all other sounds on this machine seem to work fine, including other
windows
sounds like error sounds etc., so really seems like it's just outlook 2007
itsself causing the problem.
