Hi John,
I am not sure what a ssid is but I am able to access the router from my laptop with its wireless adapter. Which makes this all the more puzzling.

God bless,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Make sure the ssid is the same on the card as on the router.
Then make sure that the ssid is set to broadcast, you can hide it later if
need be.

Jon

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Setting up Linksys wireless adapter

Hi
I am running XP Pro on my desktop computer. Some time back I bought a
Linksys wireless adapter for the computer. All I want it to do is to connect
to the wireless router. It is an open connection with no access code. Some
how the computer can not see any wireless connections in the area. I am not
sure what I am doing wrong. The Linksys adapter is a USB device if that
makes any difference.
    Any help is appreciated.

God bless,
Mark
