It does sound like there may be something deeper wrong if you cannot amend it properly through the normal applet. There may be some kind of registry fix if you check on Google but personally this is the sort of problem which prompts me to apply my Norton ghost restore of my clean image. It takes about 40 minutes to run but seems quicker in the long run. I hope you have such an option.

I checked some and succeeded only in making the start menu worse than it was. In fact, I think I'm lucky to have been able to return to the start menu rather than the classic view. Still no search, etc. Thanks for trying. I'll take another shot at this tomorrow. marilyn For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4586 (20091108) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4586 (20091108) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
