hi rick

it's just occurred to me, I've a stereo sitting right beside my computer and it is connected via a stereo cable to my sound card. did that so I could record my cassettes on to digital format for playing and backing up on mp3 players etc.

so, if I've understood you correctly, I'd only now need an FM transmitter as I've already got the radio that would pick up the signal.

right, now to locate the same item you are talking about, over here in the UK.

had a dig about and have located loads of FM transmitters for I pods, wondered if they were specific to I pods or would work on anything.

also not entirely sure what connections my TV has. at present I use the RCA stereo cable from my satellite box,

this appears more difficult than I imagined. or maybe it's just I'm not sure what I'm doing, *smiles*

thanks again for your explanations, everything helps.

Elaine

Hi Elaine,
It has been pointed out to me, that in my original reply
to your question, that I neglected to mention how your computer was going to
recieve the fm signal.
In addition, to the fm transmitter, you will need a portable FM radio that
you can connect to your soundcard.
The transmitter will be connected to your TV, to transmitt the signal,
and the radio connected to your computer can recieve that signal, and output the audio to your soundcard, enabling you to hear the audio on your computer
speakers.
You will need a patch cord to connect the radio to your soundcard.
If my omission of this detail caused any confusion,
I apologize for that.
