Hi Alan & Patricia,
Thank you for your responses. These card readers are not plugged into the
computer via a USB. They came installed in the computer. I just disabled
them through the Storage Volume choice in the Device Manager. Thanks
again
and have a great Thanksgiving. Take care.

Mike,
If you just unplug your card reader from the USB port it's
plugged into, they will go away.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Disabling card readers
Hi All,
I have several card readers label Removable Disk " E ", "F",
"G", & "H" in
my list when I open My Computer from the desktop. They are
listed under
Local Disk "C" and DVD Ram Drive "D". I never use these and
would like to
disable them. In the Device Manager tree view I see 2
possibilities where
these card readers might be. Under Disk Drives or Storage
volume. Would
someone please tell me which of these to open to disable
these items? If I
am wrong would someone please tell me which heading to look
under? I am
running XP3 Home, IE7, Office Home Jaws 10 & 11. All help
will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
Mike
