Hi.  Thanks.  That prompts another question. The NLS version of the VR
Stream... would it also play books I download from Bookshare?  I mean if I
can borrow the NLS player and it's versatile enough for my needs, it might
be better than buying one since they aren't cheap.  Maybe.

the nls v r stream in the talking books program.
To buy your own, just Google the term and see what comes up.  I think the 
price will be the same regardless of vendor-sort of price fixing . 
Humanware.com was involved in the invention of the vrs.  The others are 
vendor/resellers so checking warranties would be a good idea If AMazon.com 
has it, it may be free shipping from Amazon.  marilyn
