Ginger, if this is from A P H, it is the cartridge alone.  Look down the 
list for the cartridge and cable combination in the $17 range witih shipping 
extra (if memory serves).  I bought a one gig cartridge and cable combo for 
about that amount from Perkins with free shipping (free matter for the 
blind)  THe Perkinds store is on line under the Perkinns School for the 
blind web site.    And I'm waiting for my order that I submitted early last 
week.
SUpposedly, the one gig cartridge will hold 6-7 books.  THe two gig 
cartridge would no doubt hold more.  HTH.  Marilyn.
