Yes, Ken. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials now. However, I
think it is designed for Windows 7. It might not operate as well with an
earlier operating system. If the program loaded correctly, several things
would have happened.
1. An entire loading sequence including a license and an agreement section
would have been displayed. In addition, you would have been asked the usual
questions about choosing another directory and so on. When Security
Essentials loads, it keeps you updated on the progress.
2. Microsoft Security Essentials will appear in your Startup menu and on
your primary programs list.
3. A link will appear on your desktop. If none of these conditions have
occurred, it is not likely that the system has loaded correctly.
I sincerely hope that this helps.

Ken, does the mse show up on your programs list? Is it in your control
panel? I find it in both places. In the control panel, it says "Used
occasionally" but I'm not shure how often that is. It is not in system
tray. Maybe someone else can help us understand all of this; I hope so.
